Synopsis

What would you put on a list of all the brilliant things worth living for?

For the Narrator, the list begins as a way of helping his mother through a suicide attempt. Filled with life’s simplest joys, it grows alongside him as he journeys from childhood into adulthood. What starts as a heartfelt attempt to help someone he loves gradually becomes a source of hope, resilience and perspective, shaping the way he navigates life’s joys, heartbreaks and everything in between.

Warm, witty and deeply moving, Every Brilliant Thing is an intimate, interactive theatre experience that explores mental health, resilience and human connection with honesty and heart. Through storytelling and audience participation, students are invited to reflect on emotional wellbeing, cultivate empathy, and discover how even the smallest moments can remind them of what makes life meaningful.

Every Brilliant Thing was first produced by Paines Plough and Pentabus Theatre, on 28 June 2013 at Ludiow Fringe Festival.
