Frequently Asked Questions
Gateway Arts is a not-for-profit Singapore-registered charity. As a theatre company for young people, our mission is to provoke thought, encourage conversations, and inspire change through productions that tackle current social issues amongst children and youth. We believe in nurturing emerging artists, attracting new audiences, and providing underserved communities with meaningful arts programmes.
It is our annual fundraising gala branded as Gateway Hearts to raise funds to support our activities including but not limited to our stage & touring productions, outreach & community programmes and to help defray our operating costs.

The event is scheduled to last around three hours, from approximately 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
Dress in a colour that best represents your usual mood and emotion!
e.g. yellow for happy-go-lucky, red for fiery and excited, or blue for melancholic.
Upon arrival at Gateway Theatre, please proceed to level 7, where Gateway Arts front desk staff will provide table donor(s)/sponsor(s) with the table number.

As a not-for-profit Singapore-registered charity, Gateway Arts relies on the proceeds and ticket sales from our programmes and theatre productions, as well as the generous support of our donors and sponsors to fulfil our social mission to transform lives through the arts. In 2021, to ensure our sustainability and enable us to not only continue our work but also grow as a company, Gateway Arts’ fundraising efforts went into full swing.
Your support will help Gateway Arts to:
- Nurture Emerging Local Artists
Develop local talent and give platforms for their work to reach wider audiences.
- Build Mental Resilience in Youths
Raise awareness on mental wellness, teach coping strategies, and provide resources for seeking help.
- Discuss Important Social Issues
Highlight and encourage conversations on current issues among children and youth.
- Bringing the Arts into the Community
Make the arts more accessible to people regardless of financial, physical, or mental ability.
Gateway Arts is immensely grateful to all donors, sponsors and supporters, whose generosity will make a lasting difference to the future of the company and the lives that we touch.
Donations made to Gateway Arts Ltd are not currently eligible for 250% tax deduction; only Institutions of a Public Character (IPCs) are able to issue tax deductions for qualifying donations.
Gateway Arts Ltd is a not-for-profit Singapore-registered charity (UEN Number: 201605922E; Effective Date of Registration: 06 July 2023) and, subsequently, being conferred the status of IPC.
The Tote Board’s Enhanced Fund-Raising (EFR) Programme provides dollar-for-dollar matching, up to SGD$250,000 per charity per financial year.

Gateway Arts Ltd’s grant application for the Tote Board’s EFR Programme for Gateway Arts’ Fundraising Gala 2025 Gateway Hearts has been approved.
All eligible donations made by you during the qualifying period (24 March 2025 to 31 July 2025) will be doubled—making your impact twice as meaningful.
The dollar-for-dollar matching donations will be capped at SGD5,000 per donor per project for EFR matching.
All donations made in Singapore Dollars only to Gateway Arts Ltd are voluntary and non-refundable.
