A Theatrical Feast for the Senses: An Intimate, Immersive Dining Experience at Gateway Hearts
This year’s event will feature excerpts from Gateway Arts’ upcoming original production, Brainstorm. This innovative theatrical work explores the fascinating inner world of teenagers, shedding light on how their brains process emotions, make decisions, and navigate challenges. Inspired by the ground-breaking research of neuroscientist Professor Sarah-Jayne Blakemore and brought to life by acclaimed local playwright Cheyenne Philips, Brainstorm draws deeply from the real-life experiences of youths aged 13 to 18.
Through a vibrant tapestry of personal stories, the production captures the hopes, fears, and complexities of adolescence, weaving together dreams, memes, voices, emojis, and the ever-evolving relationships with family, friends, and society. Together with an award-winning team of home-grown creatives, Gateway Arts will once again transform Gateway Theatre’s Black Box into a one-of-a-kind private sit-down dining setting, pushing the boundaries of what is possible to bring you an intimate and immersive dinner experience.
All funds raised from the table donations and outright donations will go to Gateway Arts Limited, a not-for-profit youth-focused arts organisation and registered charity, supporting our mission to ‘Nurture Performing Hearts’. It seeks not only to encourage and support the next generation of performing artists in their creative expression, ideas and ideals, but also to shine a light on current social issues amongst children and youth, through works produced by Gateway Arts that encourage conversation, provoke positive thought, and inspire change for the better.
