When is Gateway Arts Kids Club open?

Every Saturday from 10am – 1pm. 

What is the age range for Gateway Arts Kids Club? 

Our programmes are targeted at ages 3 – 7, but children of all ages are welcome.  

Do I have to accompany my child for this programme?

We encourage parents to do the activities with your children, whether it’s Storytelling, Art & Craft, Free Play, or a workshop. It’s great for building your relationship with your child. 

How do I get to Gateway Theatre?

You can drive or come by bus, train or taxi. Details here. 

Is there parking? 

There are no carparks in the building itself, but there are a few carparks in close vicinity. Details here.  

Is there food nearby? 

Yes! Gateway Theatre is right next door to Bukit Merah Hawker Centre. There are also 3 coffeeshops and plenty of eateries and cafés nearby, such as McDonald’s, KFC (and Pizza Hut), Hao Wei Lai, Brinda’s, and Café4You, to name a few. We are also just down the road from Redhill Food Centre, Bukit Merah View Hawker Centre, Alexandra Village Food Centre, IKEA Alexandra and Anchorpoint.

In-Person Storytelling

What are the Safe Management Measures implemented?
Gateway Arts (GA) has implemented enhanced safe management measures including health checks, visitor restrictions, and the use of SafeEntry to record details of your visit. For more details, please refer to this document.
Is storytelling different every week?

Most definitely! We have a varied team of storytellers that take turns to bring you and your children a different story every week. You can see the schedule here. If you were not able to get a ticket for the live session, don’t worry! You can always catch the same story online.

How long is the programme?

Storytelling is approximately 20 minutes, but our arts and craft corner is open from 10am – 1pm.  

How do I register for storytelling?

Tickets for the whole month will be available on SISTIC 2 weeks before the first Saturday of each month. They will be released at 10am on Friday. For example, all 4 sessions in June will be available for purchase from 21 May. Do note that there are limited tickets, so click here to book them early!

Is storytelling free of charge?

Storytelling is a free programme, however you are required to place a deposit payment upon booking on SISTIC. The deposit for a small mat (1 – 2 pax) is $10, and the deposit for a big mat (3 – 5 pax) is $20. The deposit will be refunded in cash upon entry into the studio. In the event of no-show, the deposit will be forfeited. Do note that SISTIC booking fees apply. 

How long will it take for the deposit to be refunded?

The deposit will be refunded in cash upon entry into the studio. Do note that SISTIC booking fees are not refundable.   


Are partial refunds allowed? For example, will I be able to get partial refund if I purchased 2 big mats, but only utilized 1 mat on Saturday?

Yes we are able to do a partial refund. In this case, patrons will be refunded the deposit of 1 mat.  


Why do I need to pay deposit?

Seats are very limited due to the existing safe distancing measures. The deposit system has been implemented to deter no-shows and ensure that these seats do not go to waste. 

Do babies need a ticket?

Infants in arm (18 months and below) will not need a ticket.  

My relatives/ friends and I bought tickets for the same storytelling session. Will my friends and I be seated next to each other?

Unfortunately, patrons will not be able to choose their seats, as seat allocations are done by the system. 


Are walk-ins allowed?

Walk-ins are strictly not allowed due to the limited seating capacity. We will require all patrons to purchase tickets in advance.

Can my children attend the storytelling on their own?

Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult.  

I have already bought tickets but could not make it last minute, can I cancel my tickets?

Tickets that are purchased will not be refunded, but you can drop us an email at if you would like to pay-it-forward and give the tickets to another family.  


If my family/ my child is unable to attend Gateway Arts Kids Club as we/he is feeling unwell, are we able to get a refund?
